Consultancy Opportunity – Civil Engineer (Water Systems / Nampula Province)
CARE Mozambique, through the Turning on the Taps project, is seeking a Civil Engineer to support our team in assessing boreholes and small water systems in Nampula Province.
This short-term consultancy will provide technical expertise to: Conduct assessments of boreholes and existing mini water systems
Produce technical recommendations and a detailed report on required repairs, upgrades, and solarization opportunities
Draft Request for Quotation (RFQ) documents for rehabilitation works
Support the technical evaluation of received bids
Monitor rehabilitation and solarization works in coordination with the CARE field team
We’re looking for someone with: Proven experience in rural water supply systems, borehole design and rehabilitation, and solar-powered pumping
Solid knowledge of Mozambican water infrastructure standards and regulations
Ability to work collaboratively with community members, local authorities, and CARE’s technical staff
The consultant will work closely with the Turning Taps team to ensure high-quality, sustainable solutions that enhance access to clean and reliable water for rural communities. Location: Nampula Province, Mozambique
Duration: Short-term consultancy (max 3 months)
Start date: As soon as possible
